Titagarh Rail Systems Ltd (TRSL) has inaugurated a new Design & Operations Centre at its Passenger Rail Systems facility in Uttarpara, West Bengal, aimed at strengthening the company’s engineering, technology and operational capabilities in passenger rail transportation.
The new centre will serve as an integrated hub for advanced engineering, technology development and design-led innovation. It is expected to support the development of modern passenger mobility solutions and improve the company’s ability to undertake product development and engineering activities in-house.
The facility forms part of Titagarh’s broader investment in Bengal’s manufacturing ecosystem and aligns with its focus on developing rail solutions for domestic and international markets. The company currently supplies metro coaches and trains to cities including Pune, Surat, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Patna and Mumbai, while also participating in the development of next-generation Vande Bharat Sleeper trains.
The new centre is expected to enhance engineering efficiency, accelerate technology development and support Titagarh’s expanding passenger rail business. It also reinforces the company’s focus on strengthening advanced rail manufacturing capabilities in India.
