Balaji Anant Raj Ventures Ltd. (BARVL), through its knowledge infrastructure platform Astraya, has partnered with France-based XtreeE to deploy robotic 3D construction printing technology in India.
The partnership covers the supply, commissioning and technology transfer of XtreeE’s robotic 3D construction printing ecosystem. A complete robotic printing cell will be installed at the Astraya Experience Centre in Sector 63A, Gurugram, with commissioning scheduled for Q2 2027. Infrastructure will also be created to scale the facility to four systems.
The printing cell will use XtreeE’s proprietary xHEAD print head, extrusion and control system integrated with a six-axis industrial robotic arm. The technology enables large-format printing of complex concrete geometries without conventional formwork, including façade elements, structural components and non-standard architectural forms.
Astraya’s Constructory Lab will integrate material research, testing, robotic production and applied research under one roof. The facility aims to study the performance of 3D-printed concrete across different material mixes, climatic conditions and structural configurations while developing specifications that can be applied to future projects.
Designed as a live demonstration and innovation hub, the Experience Centre will bring together industry, academia, researchers and policymakers. The building itself will incorporate components produced by the robotic printing system.
Once operational, the technology is expected to support Astraya’s residential projects, with institutional applications also being explored.
The partnership places emphasis on technology transfer and local capability development, with Astraya aiming to build expertise in robotic construction, material science and digital manufacturing for India’s construction sector.
