GREW Solar to invest Rs 3,000 crore in new solar module manufacturing unit in Bhopal

GREW Solar is set to make a significant impact on India’s renewable energy landscape with its latest investment of Rs 3,000 crore. The company is establishing a state-of-the-art, three-stage backward integrated manufacturing unit in Narmadapuram, near Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. This ambitious project, sprawling across 60 acre, is designed to produce 3 GW of solar cells annually, catering to the growing demand for photovoltaic (PV) solar cells and modules both within the country and globally.

The upcoming facility in Narmadapuram is poised to not only boost the domestic renewable energy sector but also stimulate the local economy by creating over 1000 job opportunities for people in and around the region.

Alongside the major investment in Madhya Pradesh, GREW Solar recently commenced operations at its second unit in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The company is already moving ahead with the construction of its third phase at the same location. The advanced Jaipur facility, equipped with world-class automated machinery and adhering to international standards, is set to achieve a total production capacity of 8 GW upon completion.

Expressing his excitement about this remarkable milestone, Vinay Thadani, Director & CEO, GREW Solar, stated, “As a young enterprise, it gives me immense pleasure to see GREW Solar expand its operation beyond Gujarat and Rajasthan. We are grateful to the MP government for believing in us and supporting us in every step of the way. We are proud to be contributing to making India achieve its goal of generating more electricity from renewable sources as we forge ahead in the clean energy sector. With this plant, we will strengthen our manufacturing base and enhance our research and development efforts for highly efficient modules.”
