Sagar Cements has strengthened its manufacturing presence in central India with the commissioning of an additional cement grinding unit at its Jeerabad plant in Madhya Pradesh. The expansion has been undertaken through Sagar Cements (M), a subsidiary of the company, and is now operational for commercial production.
The newly added facility contributes 0.5 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) of grinding capacity, increasing the Jeerabad plant’s total capacity from 1.0 MTPA to 1.5 MTPA. The plant is located in Tehsil Gandhwani of Dhar district, a strategically important region for serving key markets across central and western India.
With this latest addition, the total cement production capacity of the Sagar Cements Group has reached 11.0 MTPA, reinforcing the company’s growth ambitions and strengthening its position within India’s competitive cement sector.
The capacity enhancement is expected to improve production flexibility, streamline logistics operations, and enable more efficient servicing of demand from infrastructure projects, housing developments, and industrial construction activities. The company is also expected to benefit from enhanced market penetration and improved supply capabilities in regions witnessing sustained construction activity.
The commissioning of the new grinding unit forms part of Sagar Cements’ broader strategy to expand its manufacturing footprint and capitalize on long-term opportunities arising from urbanisation, industrial growth, and increased infrastructure investments across the country.
