Tamil Nadu has expanded its public transport fleet with the launch of 250 new government buses in Chennai, aimed at improving connectivity, service availability and passenger comfort across the state. The initiative includes 130 air-conditioned electric buses, adding a cleaner mobility option to the state’s expanding public transportation network.

The addition of new vehicles is expected to strengthen services on high-demand routes, particularly in urban centres where increasing passenger volumes place pressure on existing fleets.
