TCS commits up to Rs 70,000 crore for a 1 GW AI data-centre campus in Hyderabad

TCS commits up to Rs 70,000 crore for a 1 GW AI data-centre campus in Hyderabad

TCS subsidiary HyperVault has secured 264 acres in Hyderabad for an AI data-centre campus of up to 1 GW, with HyperVault and partners expected to invest as much as Rs 70,000 crore in construction and management. The campus will be built in phases for frontier AI companies and hyperscalers, with high-density GPU deployments, liquid cooling, green energy and water-neutral design principles.

A. Revanth Reddy, Chief Minister of Telangana, in a meeting with officials from TCS’ HyperVault, called the project ‘historic’ not just for Telangana but for India. “This establishes that Hyderabad is now at the forefront of the global AI revolution with a strong focus on infrastructure. This decade is one of Artificial Intelligence. Access to AI models and compute is fast-becoming public infrastructure and having this compute reside in Telangana gives us an advantage,” said the Chief Minister.

K Krithivasan, CEO & MD, TCS,said, “HyperVault advances TCS’ Infrastructure-to-Intelligence strategy by bringing together AI-ready infrastructure with our cloud, engineering, enterprise transformation and AI capabilities. Hyderabad offers the scale, talent and ecosystem to serve global customers. We extend our sincere appreciation to the Hon’ble Chief Minister and the Government of Telangana for their steadfast support and progressive, investment-friendly policies.”

Deepesh Kiran Nanda, CEO and MD, HyperVault AI Data Center Ltd,said,“We are building infrastructure for where AI is going: higher density, liquid cooling, larger power blocks and faster deployment. Hyderabad gives us the foundation to build that at scale for frontier AI companies and hyperscalers. We thank the Government of Telangana for extending its support to the development of the infrastructure that will power intelligence.”

The project represents a major shift for India’s construction market: AI is creating demand for specialised, power-intensive industrial infrastructure rather than conventional IT office space. The ecosystem around the project will include power, cooling, networking, construction and engineering.

Expect growing demand for high-voltage electrical systems, substations, cooling equipment, structural systems, MEP engineering and specialised data-centre construction. Hyderabad is increasingly emerging as a major AI-infrastructure location.
