Shallu Jindal, Chairperson of Jindal Foundation, has been honoured with the ‘CSR Person of the Year’ award at the 19th India CSR Leadership Summit & Awards 2026 in New Delhi. The recognition acknowledges her contributions to advancing women’s health, maternal care, nutrition and economic empowerment through community-focused development programmes.
A key initiative under her leadership is #HerKadam, which has extended its reach to communities across more than 2,300 underserved villages. The programme integrates healthcare, nutrition, safe motherhood and livelihood support to address the needs of women, adolescent girls and children. It has supported over nine lakh adolescent girls through anaemia screening, treatment and counselling, while more than 8.9 lakh expectant and new mothers have received antenatal and postnatal care.
The initiative has also contributed to improved nutritional outcomes, with over 90 per cent of identified severely malnourished children progressing towards healthier nutritional status. Overall, #HerKadam has delivered more than 12 mn instances of health and nutrition support.
The summit, themed ‘CSR Enabling Innovation – Bringing Ideas, Technology, Capital and Partnerships Together to Scale Social Impact’, brought together industry leaders and representatives from corporate and development organisations to discuss collaboration and approaches to expanding the reach of social initiatives.
The award highlights Jindal Foundation’s integrated approach to grassroots development, combining sustained community engagement with targeted interventions. Through #HerKadam and its broader programmes, the foundation continues to focus on improving access to essential healthcare, strengthening nutrition outcomes and creating greater opportunities for women and girls.
