Abhyuday Jindal appointed President of Indian Chamber of Commerce

The Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) has announced Abhyuday Jindal, Managing Director, Jindal Stainless Ltd, as its new president during their annual plenary session in New Delhi, attended by Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal. Goyal emphasized the importance of young leaders in driving India’s progress and encouraged ICC to extend its support for startups and women entrepreneurs while leveraging government initiatives to boost skills and job creation among youth.

Goyal pointed out the importance of industry-government collaboration to create opportunities for the middle class and elevate those in poverty. He also highlighted the potential of the tourism sector and encouraged ICC to promote India as a global tourism hub.

Abhyuday Jindal shared his goals for ICC, focusing on positioning the organization as a key driver of economic growth and innovation. With a background in Economics and Business Management from Boston University and extensive leadership experience, Jindal aims to promote sustainable practices and support policies that elevate Indian industries on the global stage. His track record at Jindal Stainless includes advancing operational efficiencies and fostering sustainable growth.

The event also saw new appointments within ICC, with Brij Bhushan Agarwal of Shyam Metalics becoming senior vice president and Parthiv Vikram Neotia of Ambuja Neotia assuming the role of vice president. Additionally, Italian Ambassador Antonio Bartoli engaged in a discussion about strengthening India-Italy relations, stressing the importance of collaboration amid geopolitical challenges and its impact on trade and investment.

Jindal’s focus on self-reliance and community development is expected to steer ICC toward policies and initiatives that contribute to India’s target of becoming a US$ 35 trillion economy by 2047.
