Ammann Expands Footprint in India with State-of-the-Art Track Paver Facility

Ammann has taken a step forward in India with the inauguration of its cutting-edge manufacturing facility in Gujarat, dedicated to track pavers. This strategic move strengthens Ammann India’s commitment to delivering world-class construction equipment while reinforcing its presence in both domestic and international markets.

The facility, a direct outcome of Ammann’s acquisition of ABG pavers last year, is designed to manufacture ABG Track and Wheel Pavers with widths ranging from 7.5 to 10 m. Additionally, the plant will produce compactors and bitumen sprayers, integrating pioneering German-engineering technology to ensure high-performance, fuel-efficient, and technologically advanced solutions for road construction.

Ammann has made a substantial investment to modernize its manufacturing capabilities, focusing on automation, sustainability, and workforce upskilling. The facility boasts cutting-edge automation features, including an IIoT-based Automatic Storage and Retrieval System for optimized material handling and enhanced safety. Additionally, real-time data acquisition systems will be employed to streamline process monitoring and quality assurance.

Beyond advanced technology, the facility is designed with sustainability at its core. Solar panels have been installed to reduce carbon emissions, while energy-efficient infrastructure incorporates LED lighting, skylights, HVLS fans, and IIoT-enabled energy monitoring systems. A robust waste management and recycling program further underlines Ammann’s commitment to ethical manufacturing practices.

Speaking about this milestone, Hans-Christian Schneider, CEO, Ammann Group, emphasized India’s critical role in the company’s global strategy. “India has emerged as a key market for Ammann, and this expansion underscores our long-term commitment to the region. With its growing infrastructure needs and demand for advanced road construction solutions, India plays a crucial role in our global strategy. With a similar manufacturing facility in Germany, and now India, we continue to showcase our dedication to technological innovation, creative problem-solving, and sustainable practices.”

Echoing this sentiment, Dheeraj Panda, MD, Ammann India, highlighted the company’s focus on revolutionizing India’s infrastructure. “Ammann has been at the forefront of bringing global expertise to revolutionize India’s infrastructure sector. This expansion is not only aimed at strengthening our presence in the market but also reinforces our promise to deliver high-quality, efficient, and sustainable solutions tailored to India’s infrastructure landscape. With this new facility, the company continues its journey of indigenous manufacturing, ensuring that world-class products are developed within India to meet the growing demands of both domestic and international markets.”

With this expansion, Ammann India is not only positioning itself as a leader in the country’s highway infrastructure development but also expanding its reach across Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, Africa, and select European markets. This move underscores the company’s vision of indigenously manufacturing cutting-edge solutions while cementing its status as a key player in the global road construction equipment industry.
