Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu recently launched a series of industrial projects in Sri City, marking significant investments and job creation efforts. The total investment for these projects is up to Rs 3,683 crore, with the potential to generate around 15,280 new jobs.
The initiatives include the inauguration of 15 industrial projects with an investment of Rs 1,570 crore, expected to create 8,480 jobs. Additionally, the foundation was laid for seven new projects, involving Rs 900 crore and projected to provide 2,740 jobs. Five agreements were also finalised, involving an investment of Rs 1,213 crore and offering the potential for 4,060 jobs.
Sri City, currently home to 220 companies from 30 countries, has attracted investments totalling US$ 4.6 billion and achieved exports worth $ 4 billion. Looking forward, there are plans to enhance Sri City’s status as a leading special economic zone (SEZ) with ambitions to match or exceed global standards. The state is also focusing on advancing electric vehicles and hybrid energy models, including solar, wind, pumped energy, battery, and thermal sources, with an emphasis on green hydrogen technology.
