Bajel Projects Ltd has entered into a strategic collaboration with National Investment and Infrastructure Fund and AnantGrid to jointly explore opportunities in India’s power transmission sector.
The collaboration is aimed at participating in projects linked to renewable energy integration and the modernisation of the country’s electricity grid. With India targeting the installation of 500 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030, the requirement for a stronger and more extensive transmission network is expected to grow significantly in the coming years.
Under the partnership, each organisation will contribute its core capabilities to support the development of transmission infrastructure. NIIF will bring its investment and asset management expertise, while AnantGrid will focus on business development and project management. Bajel Projects will leverage its engineering, procurement and construction strengths to execute projects efficiently.
The partnership will primarily focus on bidding for and delivering transmission projects that facilitate the integration of renewable power into the national grid while addressing the country’s increasing electricity demand. The initiative is expected to support the expansion and reliability of India’s power transmission network as the country accelerates its energy transition and strengthens its infrastructure to meet future energy requirements.
