In a significant development move, the City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) is charting a new course for the Kharghar region in Navi Mumbai with the unveiling of their visionary project – the International Corporate Park (ICP). This expansive corporate hub, spanning 140 hectare, is poised to rival the esteemed Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) in its grandeur.
Situated just 14 km away from the forthcoming Navi Mumbai International Airport, CIDCO is making strategic strides to transform Kharghar into a bustling business epicenter. The initial phase of this endeavor involves reclaiming the land from encroachments. A substantial tender bid of approximately Rs 11.3 crore has been initiated for the construction of a protective boundary encompassing the future corporate park.
Already, groundwork is underway on the outskirts, encompassing the construction of access roads and a sprawling 10.5 hectare football ground. This marks the inaugural step in a comprehensive development plan set to reshape the region, according to a high-ranking official. The development scope encompasses sectors 29, 28, 31, 32, 33, and segments of 34 A, 27, 24, 23, 22, and Owe village.
Moving forward, CIDCO’s focus will shift to the meticulous strategy and design of the park. The blueprint envisions the creation of diverse complexes tailored for various commercial domains, encompassing corporate offices, hospitality and media entertainment infrastructure, as well as front offices catering to IT enterprises.
Notably, the corporate park will also integrate premium residential zones, educational institutions, and top-tier medical facilities. An official involved in the project remarked, “This will emerge as a dynamic economic hub, thanks to its proximity to the airport. While the idea was conceived nearly eight years ago, recent developments concerning the airport have prompted a complete reimagining of the project, which will be unveiled in the second phase.
In subsequent stages, extensive research will be conducted to identify sectors eager to establish their presence within the city. Expressions of interest will serve as a barometer for shaping the area’s future infrastructure.
