The Noida-Greno West Metro Project that is an extension of the Aqua Line Metro in Gautam Buddh Nagar and passes through the Greater Noida West area has received approval from the Central Government’s Public Investment Board (PIB). As per reports, PIB has given approval to the project and the Central Government will invest 20 per cent money in the project. Also known as the Noida Extension, the Aqua Line metro’s extension is proposed to connect Noida and Greater Noida (West). The extension corridor of the Aqua Line metro will connect Noida Sector 51 and Knowledge Park V in Greater Noida (West). The route is proposed to have nine stations over 14.95 km. The Greater Noida West Metro project is a 14.95 km long line with nine stations. The first phase will have a 9.15 km long-elevated track, where five elevated stations are to be built, including sector 122, sector 123, sector 4, sector 12 Ecotech, and sector-2. The remaining four metros will be constructed in the second phase. The project would be built at an estimate of Rs 2,200 crore which would be spent by the Noida and Greater Noida Authority, Central Government and Uttar Pradesh Government. Post the final approval from the Centre and floating a tender for construction companies, construction is expected to begin by March 2023 and is likely to end by 2024.
