DGI and EVage Motors join forces to make world-class electric motors in India

DGI and EVage Motors team up to accelerate electric vehicle adoption in India, leveraging cutting-edge technology and manufacturing prowess.

To reshape the landscape of sustainable mobility in India, DG Innovate (DGI) and EVage Motors have announced a transformative joint venture (JV) that promises to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) across the Asian market.

DGI, an R&D company renowned for its solutions in sustainable mobility and energy storage, is teaming up with EVage Motors, India’s electric truck company, in a strategic partnership aimed at revolutionising the EV sector. The JV aims to leverage DGI’s expertise in high-precision manufacturing and EVage’s cutting-edge electric truck technology to produce world-class electric vehicles at competitive costs.

At the heart of this collaboration lies DGI’s proprietary Pareta® electric drive system, renowned for its exceptional efficiency at 98.5 per cent. By manufacturing this groundbreaking technology in Punjab, India, the JV seeks to tap into the burgeoning Asian EV market, offering fleet owners more efficient electric trucks with increased range and reduced ownership costs.

Commenting on the partnership, Peter Bardenfleth-Hansen, CEO, DGI, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “This is a pivotal moment for DGI and we welcome our new partners at EVage. Asia is a critical market for the EV industry, and India, in particular, benefits from a leading manufacturing platform that will allow us to deploy our products at top speed and competitive costs.” He further emphasized the significance of the JV in advancing sustainable transportation solutions in the region.

In response, Inderveer Singh, Founder & CEO, EVage, expressed his excitement about the collaboration, highlighting the potential to introduce cutting-edge motor technology to India and create high-value engineering jobs. “Together with DGI, EVage will produce world-class products aligned with PM Modi’s vision of make in India, make for the world,” Singh stated. He also emphasised the importance of industry leaders like Peter recognising India as a hub of opportunities for the EV sector.

Central to the success of this joint venture is the expertise brought forth by Pierre Pellerey, a seasoned veteran in motor design, whose contributions have been instrumental in the development of iconic electric vehicles such as Tesla’s Model 3, Model Y, and Model S Plaid, as well as Dyson’s flagship V10 motor. With Pellerey’s wealth of experience, the JV is poised to drive innovation and efficiency in the production of electric vehicles, setting new benchmarks for the industry.

Powered by EVage’s Modular Miniature Manufacturing (Mcube) micro factory, which already supports India’s first native commercial EV platform, the JV aims to scale production to meet the growing demand for sustainable transportation solutions. With a track record of producing over 300 electric trucks to date, EVage is poised to make significant strides in servicing top FMCG, e-commerce, and logistics companies throughout India, including industry giants like Amazon.

As the partnership between DGI and EVage takes flight, all eyes are on the transformative impact it promises to have on the electric vehicle industry in India and beyond.
