DICV Appoints Rajiv Chaturvedi as President & CBO

Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV), the Indian arm of Daimler Truck AG, has ushered in a new phase of leadership with the appointment of Rajiv Chaturvedi as President and Chief Business Officer. His appointment signals a strategic shift as the company navigates a complex landscape marked by slower market expansion and rising competition. Chaturvedi steps into the role previously held by Sreeram Venkateswaran, who was instrumental in charting DICV’s growth roadmap and expanding the presence of BharatBenz in India.

The entry of Chaturvedi, a seasoned leader with significant expertise in construction equipment and industrial machinery, comes at a pivotal time. His five-year stint at Hyundai Construction Equipment India saw remarkable outcomes, including a consistent double-digit revenue increase and a sharp improvement in operating margins. Earlier, his tenure with Tata Hitachi Construction Machinery helped broaden his strategic and operational capabilities across key business functions.

DICV’s operating environment is also undergoing transformation at the global level. The company’s inclusion within a newly defined structure—distinct from the broader Daimler Truck Asia region—coincides with the ongoing integration of Mitsubishi Fuso and Hino Trucks. This realignment positions India as a more prominent node in Daimler Truck’s global operations, offering Chaturvedi a unique opportunity to drive strategic synergy and innovation.

As the commercial vehicle sector continues to evolve, driven by infrastructure developments, technology upgrades, and changing logistics models, Chaturvedi’s industry insight is expected to play a crucial role in DICV’s efforts to enhance competitiveness.
