Gensol Engineering names Shilpa Urhekar as CEO of Solar EPC, India

Shilpa Urhekar stepping in as CEO of Gensol Engineering's Solar EPC division signals a promising boost for the company's growth.

In a strategic move aimed at bolstering its leadership team and expanding its solar capabilities, Gensol Engineering has appointed Shilpa Urhekar as the Chief Executive Officer of its Solar EPC (India) division. Urhekar will take over from Ali Imran Naqvi, who will now focus on driving growth for Gensol Engineering Ltd and its subsidiaries, as disclosed in a filing with the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).

Urhekar joins Gensol after a notable tenure as the Country Head (India) at Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy Ltd (SWREL). During her leadership at SWREL, she was instrumental in the successful bidding and execution of 6 Gigawatts (GW) of renewable energy projects across India. Her management prowess ensured the completion of multi-gigawatt Solar EPC projects ahead of schedule, contributing to positive bottom-line growth for the company.

With over 20 years of experience in the renewable energy sector, Urhekar’s expertise is expected to significantly benefit Gensol Engineering. Her primary focus will be on enhancing the company’s solar EPC business and solidifying its position as a key player in India’s renewable energy market.
