JBM Group joins forces with Keppel to accelerate sustainable energy and mobility in India

JBM Group has entered into a strategic partnership with Singapore-based Keppel Ltd to advance sustainable energy and infrastructure solutions

JBM Group has entered into a strategic partnership with Singapore-based Keppel Ltd to advance sustainable energy and infrastructure solutions. The collaboration focuses on key areas such as electric mobility, EV charging networks, renewable energy systems, and battery energy storage systems (BESS). Additionally, both companies plan to explore innovative solutions in e-waste management, urban decarbonization, and electrified transport systems.

Combining Keppel’s expertise in clean energy and resource management with JBM Group’s strengths in electric vehicle technology and battery innovation, the alliance aims to develop transformative projects. Key initiatives include electromobility hubs and resource recovery facilities, targeting environmental challenges while supporting global decarbonization efforts. The partners will also conduct feasibility studies on EV charging infrastructure and BESS development to support decarbonization in industrial and commercial sectors.

This collaboration aligns with the India-Singapore Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP), which was bolstered earlier in 2024 during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Singapore. The CSP has strengthened bilateral efforts in areas like sustainability, digital technology, and advanced manufacturing, setting the stage for ventures like this.

Nishant Arya, Vice Chairman of JBM Group, highlighted that the partnership reinforces the company’s commitment to advancing global decarbonization goals by leveraging its expertise in e-mobility and green manufacturing. Cindy Lim, CEO of Keppel Infrastructure, underscored the importance of partnerships in addressing India’s growing energy demands fueled by urbanization and electrification, contributing to the country’s sustainable development and energy transition objectives.

As India moves towards its energy transition goals and implements frameworks like the India Cooling Action Plan, this collaboration is poised to make a significant impact, driving green economic growth and supporting the nation’s path to sustainability.
