Jitendra Srivastava, IAS, has taken over as Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of REC Ltd. His appointment was approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC), designating him to the post in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary to the Government of India, under the Ministry of Power.
An Indian Administrative Service officer of the 2000 batch from the Bihar cadre, Srivastava brings with him over two decades of extensive experience in public administration. Prior to this assignment, he was serving as Joint Secretary in the Department of Drinking Water & Sanitation, Ministry of Jal Shakti. He has also held significant positions in the Government of Bihar, including Secretary in the Home Department and the Public Health Engineering Department.
Throughout his career, Srivastava has been associated with key sectors such as finance, education, infrastructure, public health, and the power sector. His tenure has been marked by impactful contributions at both the state and central levels, showcasing a balanced understanding of grassroots governance and national policy implementation.
An alumnus of Hansraj College, University of Delhi, he holds a B.A. (Hons) in Economics and an MBA in Finance from Cochin University of Science and Technology. With his comprehensive administrative expertise and strategic insight, Srivastava is poised to lead REC Ltd in further advancing India’s power and energy ambitions.
