JK Cement Ltd has strengthened its manufacturing presence in eastern India with the inauguration of a new grey cement grinding unit in Buxar, Bihar, reinforcing its commitment to supporting the state’s growing infrastructure and construction sector.
The facility was inaugurated by Samrat Choudhary, Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, under the guidance of Nitish Kumar, Chief Minister of Bihar. The event was attended by Dr Dilip Kumar Jaiswal, Minister of Industries and Road Construction, Government of Bihar, along with Dr Nidhipati Singhania, Vice Chairman of JK Cement Ltd, marking the formal commissioning of the company’s new manufacturing facility in the state.
Strategically located along the Patna–Buxar highway, the plant spans nearly 100 acres and has an installed production capacity of 3 million ton per annum (MTPA). The facility is expected to enhance the availability of cement across Bihar and neighbouring regions, supporting the execution of infrastructure projects, housing developments, and commercial construction activities.
Developed with an investment of approximately Rs 500 crore, the project commenced construction in March 2025 and represents a notable addition to Bihar’s industrial landscape. The new manufacturing unit is also expected to contribute to local economic development through direct and indirect employment generation, while encouraging the growth of ancillary industries linked to construction and cement supply chains.
The Buxar grinding unit aligns with the company’s strategy of expanding its presence in high-growth markets through localized manufacturing. Until now, JK Cement supplied cement to Bihar largely from its facility in Prayagraj. Establishing a production base within the state is expected to improve supply efficiency, reduce delivery timelines, and strengthen service responsiveness for customers and project developers.
With infrastructure development and urban construction gaining momentum across Bihar, the Buxar facility is set to play a key role in meeting the region’s rising cement demand while further strengthening JK Cement’s footprint in eastern India.
