The new brand reflects KOEL’s legacy of excellence and its vision for sustainable growth in both Indian and global markets.
Kirloskar Industrial offers a robust portfolio of indigenously designed and manufactured solutions, ranging from engines and power packs to weapon systems, propulsion solutions, fuel-agnostic technologies, and integrated physical and digital systems. These solutions are engineered to meet the unique demands of varied sectors, ensuring reliability, efficiency, and environmental compliance.
Gauri Kirloskar, Managing Director, Kirloskar Oil Engines Ltd, elaborated on the company’s vision for the new brand:
“This launch reaffirms our dedication to innovation and sustainability. Kirloskar Industrial has been at the forefront of engineering excellence, partnering with OEMs and key stakeholders to deliver advanced technology to the Indian and global markets. The introduction of the CEV BS-V engine exemplifies Kirloskar’s commitment to sustainable practices and exceptional performance in construction applications. The innovations showcased are more than just products; they are solutions that empower industries to achieve greater performance while meeting global sustainability goals.”
The launch featured several industry-first advancements, underlining Kirloskar’s leadership in the engineering domain:
CEV BS-V engines designed for construction machinery such as backhoe loaders, wheel loaders, cranes, material handling equipment, and road and concrete applications.
India’s first CNG-powered air-cooled engine, specifically developed for concrete equipment.
India’s only 1100 HP engine, engineered for demanding mining applications, including dump trucks, dozers, and excavators.
Future-ready innovations, such as hybrid engines and hydrogen-fuelled internal combustion engines.
These solutions not only set new benchmarks for performance but also address the increasing need for environmentally sustainable technologies.
At the heart of the launch was the unveiling of the CEV BS-V engine range, representing a significant leap in efficiency and sustainability. These engines drastically reduce emissions, including nitrogen oxides and particulate matter, and offer best-in-class fuel efficiency powered by an internally developed hybrid governing system. With a 10 per cent faster load response compared to industry benchmarks, the engines are optimized for demanding and heavy-duty construction applications.
Rigorous testing across 20,000 hours in extreme conditions—including sub-zero temperatures and high altitudes up to 5,500 m has ensured reliability, adaptability, and superior performance. Features such as integrated on-board controls and after-treatment systems further enhance ease of integration and maintenance.
Rahul Sahai, CEO, Kirloskar Oil Engines Ltd, highlighted the broader impact of these advancements:
“The range of Kirloskar Industrial’s products is a testament to our strong legacy and our commitment to power India’s industrial growth. From India’s first CNG-powered air-cooled engines to developing the only locally manufactured 1100 HP mining engines, we will continue to bring the most practical indigenously developed products for our customers. The BS-V engine is a major step forward in India’s journey towards adopting cleaner and greener technologies. Along with BS-V engines, our hybrid and hydrogen-fuelled internal combustion engines will help meet the global demand for high-performance, eco-friendly solutions, solidifying Kirloskar Industrial’s leadership in sustainable engineering solutions.”
The launch of Kirloskar Industrial at bauma CONEXPO INDIA 2024 represents a significant milestone in KOEL’s journey towards innovation, sustainability, and technological leadership.
