The Maharashtra Cabinet has approved the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) to raise a loan of Rs 35,629 crore for the land acquisition for three land projects. According to reports, work on three major road infrastructure projects in Maharashtra like the Virar-Alibaug Multi-purpose Corridor, Pune Ring Road and the Jalna-Nanded Expressway has been undertaken by the MSRDC. The Virar-Alibaug Multi-purpose corridor and Pune Ring Road will pass through cities like Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane and Pune. Thereby, making it a necessity for the corporation to raise a large amount for the land acquisition of this massive project. The corporation aims to raise a loan from institutions like Housing Urban Development Corporation (HUDCO) and others. The work is in its final stage of land surveying and is expected to begin in a few months. In the near future, the MSRDC has planned to construct 5,000-km of highways and expressways network.
