Namo Bharat Rapid Rail Transit extended to Bawal

The Namo Bharat Rapid Rail Transit System, originally operating between Meerut and Alwar, has received approval from the Haryana Government for an extension up to Bawal. This expansion enhances the 164-km Delhi–Alwar corridor, which includes 22 modern stations connecting Delhi, Haryana, and Rajasthan. The corridor strategically links major industrial and logistics hubs such as Gurugram, Manesar, Dharuhera, Rewari, and Bawal, supporting investment zones including the Integrated Multi-Modal Logistics Hub (IMLH) and Manesar–Bawal Investment Region (MBIR).

The project forms a key part of the PM Gati Shakti Master Plan, aimed at creating integrated regional transport networks to boost industrial growth, attract investments, and generate employment in South Haryana. Trains on the corridor will operate at speeds up to 160 km/h, featuring air-conditioned coaches with ergonomic seating, USB charging ports, and regenerative braking technology.

The extension is expected to significantly reduce travel time across the region, lower vehicular congestion, and contribute to sustainable mobility by reducing pollution levels. Rapid progress by the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) highlights India’s commitment to modernizing urban and intercity transport, offering safe, efficient, and high-speed connectivity to commuters while supporting economic development along the corridor.
