Commuters can now reach Thane to Dombivli in 20 mins. It would now be a smooth and quick ride through the upcoming Mankoli-Motagaon Link Bridge. It usually takes around one hour to cover it and the roads are congested, especially during the peak hours. Through the upcoming Mankoli-Motagaon link bridge around 84 per cent of the long pending bridge has been completed and the officials have been asked to expedite the work, the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) informed.
During the Motagaon Mankoli creek Bridge road review visit, SVR Srinivas, the Metropolitan Commissioner, MMRDA instructed the team to expedite work. He also directed the work of the service road at Thane and Nashik sides to begin immediately after the shifting of the TMC water pipeline, the MMRDA said. Authority is pushing to finish the project by April 2023 and open the bridge for vehicular traffic. As per reports, the bridge will provide MMR-level connectivity through the proposed Kalyan Ring Road-Katai Naka-Badlapur-Karjat. It will also decongest Mumbra Shilphata Kalamboli and Panvel.
