PM Modi Launches Infrastructure Projects Worth Over Rs 7,000 Crore in Bihar

Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled and initiated a series of major infrastructure projects amounting to over Rs 7,000 crore in Motihari, Bihar, focusing on strengthening connectivity, boosting regional development, and supporting digital growth.

In the railway sector, new milestones were achieved with the dedication of the automatic signalling system between Samastipur and Bachhwara, alongside the completion of the doubling of rail lines between Darbhanga-Thalwara and Samastipur-Rambhadrapur. These works are part of the broader Darbhanga-Samastipur railway enhancement initiative valued at more than Rs 580 crore. Additionally, the foundation stone was laid for the Darbhanga-Narkatiaganj rail line doubling project, a significant investment of Rs 4,080 crore aimed at improving rail connectivity across North Bihar.

Road infrastructure also received a major push with the launch of key highway development projects. The Prime Minister inaugurated the newly completed Parariya to Mohania four-lane stretch of NH-319, facilitating smoother vehicular movement and enhancing logistics efficiency in the region. The foundation stone was also laid for the four-laning of the Ara bypass (NH-319), further expanding road capacity and improving travel times.

In the digital domain, steps were taken to reinforce Bihar’s technological ecosystem. Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) centres were inaugurated in Darbhanga and Patna, forming a foundation for future-focused IT development. These facilities are expected to catalyse innovation, foster entrepreneurship, and support IT-enabled services, thereby contributing to the growth of the digital economy in the state.

The development initiatives collectively reflect a multi-sectoral approach aimed at boosting connectivity, economic growth, and digital empowerment in Bihar.
