In a significant boost to India’s self-reliance in defence manufacturing, six key projects by Aerolloy Technologies— a wholly owned subsidiary of PTC Industries—officially began construction at the Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor in Lucknow. The event was marked by the presence of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, symbolising the Centre and State’s joint commitment to fostering indigenous technological capabilities in aerospace and defence.
Among the headline developments is the establishment of India’s largest Aerospace Precision Casting Plant, complemented by a new Aerospace Forge Shop and Mill Products Plant. Also taking shape are a high-end Aerospace Precision Machining Shop, a Strategic Powder Metallurgy Facility, a dedicated R&D Centre, and the STrIDE Academy—an advanced skill development institute aimed at cultivating the next generation of aerospace engineers and technicians.
The highlight of the occasion was the formal inauguration of Aerolloy’s state-of-the-art Titanium and Superalloys Materials Plant. Touted to be one of the world’s largest single-site titanium remelting facilities, the plant is equipped with sophisticated technologies including Vacuum Arc Remelting (VAR), Electron Beam Cold Hearth Remelting (EBCHR), Plasma Arc Melting (PAM), and Vacuum Induction Melting (VIM). This facility is expected to significantly reduce India’s reliance on imported high-performance materials critical to defence and aerospace production.
With these developments, Uttar Pradesh strengthens its position as a growing hub for high-end defence manufacturing. The integrated approach of infrastructure creation, advanced skilling, and innovation-driven manufacturing aligns with the broader national vision of an Aatmanirbhar Bharat. The launch not only marks a milestone for PTC Industries and its subsidiary Aerolloy but also reaffirms India’s emergence as a serious contender in the global defence and aerospace materials ecosystem.
