Strengthening its leadership bench in a high-growth market, Schneider Electric has appointed Sumati Sahgal as Vice President – Secure Power and Data Centres for the Greater India Zone. The move aligns with the company’s broader strategy to scale its digital infrastructure capabilities and accelerate sustainable energy solutions in India.
In her new role, Sahgal will take charge of the Secure Power and Data Centre business, with end-to-end responsibility for driving performance, executing strategic priorities, and deepening customer engagement across the region. The elevation signals Schneider Electric’s continued focus on nurturing internal leadership while positioning India as a key hub for next-generation infrastructure growth.
With over two decades of experience spanning technology and telecommunications, Sahgal brings strong expertise in business transformation, P&L management, and customer-centric growth strategies. Her leadership will be directed towards expanding the company’s presence in the cloud and service provider segments, strengthening enterprise relationships, and enhancing collaboration across its partner ecosystem.
The appointment comes at a time when the rapid evolution of artificial intelligence and digital technologies is fuelling demand for resilient, efficient, and scalable data centre infrastructure. In this context, Schneider Electric’s integrated approach—covering power, cooling, and intelligent management systems—will remain central to its growth strategy. The company’s ‘Grid to Chip’ and ‘Chip to Chiller’ offerings, supported by advanced software and services, are expected to play a critical role in enabling AI-ready infrastructure.
Sahgal will also focus on strengthening go-to-market strategies and driving profitable growth across the Secure Power and Data Centre portfolio, particularly in critical infrastructure segments. Enhancing customer engagement and expanding strategic partnerships will be key levers in reinforcing the company’s positioning in the evolving digital ecosystem.
Prior to this role, she led the Homes and Distribution division at Schneider Electric India as Vice President – Home Solutions, where she drove portfolio innovation and expanded market presence in the consumer segment.
Sahgal holds an MBA in Marketing from Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies and a Bachelor of Commerce from University of Delhi. Her elevation underscores Schneider Electric’s commitment to leadership development, innovation, and advancing India’s role in the global energy and digital landscape.
