In a groundbreaking development, Suzlon, a renewable energy solutions provider, has inked a work order with global power company EDF Renewables for a cutting-edge 30 MW wind power project. The project is set to be a beacon of sustainable energy in Gujarat, India.
As per the contractual agreement, Suzlon is entrusted with the installation of 10 state-of-the-art wind turbine generators (WTGs), featuring the innovative hybrid lattice tubular (HLT) tower design. Each turbine boasts an impressive rated capacity of three megawatts. Suzlon’s role spans the entire project lifecycle, encompassing supply, supervision, commissioning, post-commissioning, and ongoing maintenance services.
The focal point of this initiative is to channel the electricity generated into the grid managed by Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam (GUVNL). Anticipated to power over 24 thousand households, the project is forecasted to make a substantial impact by curbing over 97,000 ton of CO2 emissions annually.
EDF Renewables, a stalwart in the global renewable energy landscape, strategically taps into Suzlon’s wealth of experience in the Indian wind market to propel the success of this venture. With an eye on the future, EDF Renewables envisions not only operating but also expanding its clean energy portfolio within the burgeoning renewable energy sector in India.
This collaboration marks a significant stride toward achieving sustainable energy goals, aligning with both companies’ commitment to fostering environmentally responsible solutions. As the wind of change blows through Gujarat, Suzlon and EDF Renewables join forces to propel India further into a greener, cleaner energy future.
