The Hyderabad airport metro rail project has been put on the fast track with the Telangana Government inviting global tenders for the selection of EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) contractor to execute the project. Covering the 31 km corridor between Raidurg and airport terminal station.The Telangana Government has been giving top priority to metro connectivity to the airport at Shamshabad from the IT corridor. The elevated portion of the track will span 29.3 km and the underground segment will stretch for 1.7 km.The entire airport metro network will comprise nine stations, including the underground one. As on date, the preliminary work for the project such as survey, peg marking, alignment fixation etc. have been completed and soil testing is going on currently as per reports. The proposed airport metro rail line will have nine stations including one underground metro station adjacent to the airport terminal. The last date for bid submission of tenders is 5th July this year.
