UltraTech Cement Ltd has achieved a remarkable milestone as twelve of its limestone mines were awarded 5-Star rating by the Indian Bureau of Mines for the fiscal year 2022-23. The awards ceremony, held in New Delhi, was graced by G Kishan Reddy, Union Minister of Coal & Mines, and Satish Chandra Dubey, Minister of State for Coal and Mines.
The 5-Star rating is a testament to UltraTech’s commitment to excellence in mining practices and sustainability. It is awarded based on a rigorous evaluation of best practices, including scientific and efficient mining, zero waste mining, environmental protection, progressive and final mine closure, green energy sourcing, and social impact initiatives.
UltraTech Cement’s achievement highlights its dedication to sustainable mining and its alignment with the Indian Bureau of Mines’ goals for effective and responsible mineral processing. Notably, UltraTech has received the highest number of 5-Star ratings across all mineral categories, including Limestone, Iron Ore, Bauxite, Lead Zinc, and Manganese for FY2022-23.
