VE Commercial Vehicles Ltd (VECV), a joint venture between Volvo Group and Eicher Motors, marked a significant milestone by inaugurating a dedicated manufacturing facility at its Industry 4.0 compliant Bhopal factory. The occasion was further celebrated with the delivery of the first batch of Eicher Pro X trucks to prominent Indian logistics providers. This follows the successful launch of the Eicher Pro X small truck at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025.
The state-of-the-art facility was inaugurated by Martin Lundstedt, President and CEO, Volvo Group, and Siddhartha Lal, Chairman, Eicher Motors Ltd, and Board Member, VECV. The new assembly line, operated entirely by women, reinforces VECV’s commitment to innovation and inclusiveness on the manufacturing floor.
Speaking at the event, Martin Lundstedt, President and CEO, Volvo Group expressed his admiration for India’s rapid development, stating, “Each time I visit India, I am truly amazed by the rapid pace of development, including the transformation towards sustainable and modern logistics and public transport. It is an honour to inaugurate this state-of-the-art facility and deliver the first batch of Eicher Pro X trucks to customers who are redefining logistics in India.”
Siddhartha Lal, Chairman, Eicher Motors Ltd, and Board Member, VECV highlighted Eicher’s legacy of leadership, emphasizing the company’s dedication to modernizing the Indian commercial vehicle sector. The Eicher Pro X trucks are designed to meet the evolving demands of last-mile logistics operations with a focus on sustainability and driver comfort.
