VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV) Ltd, a joint venture between Volvo Group and Eicher Motors, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Baidyanath LNG Pvt Ltd for the deployment of 500 Eicher Pro 6055 LNG trucks. The signing of the MOU was marked by the flag-off of the Eicher Pro 6055 LNG trucks by the Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, during the inauguration of the B-LNG station in Nagpur.
This collaboration is set to accelerate the development of the LNG station network across Central India, supporting the transition of the long-haul transport sector towards cleaner fuels. The partnership aims to enhance the supply-side ecosystem for LNG, facilitating a sustainable alternative for long-distance transportation.
Commenting on the milestone, Vinod Aggarwal, Managing Director and CEO of VECV, stated, “As LNG becomes a crucial fuel for clean long-haul transportation, Eicher is actively working with partners to deliver state-of-the-art vehicles backed by superior technology. The Eicher Pro 6055 LNG truck is powered by Volvo Group’s globally recognized VEGX8 6-cylinder engine, which produces 260HP at 2200RPM and delivers a torque of 1000Nm between 1100-1800RPM. It is designed for long-haul operations with dual tanks, offering a range of up to 1,100 km. The truck also features a high-performance transmission system, a state-of-the-art cabin equipped with HVAC, and an air-suspended driver seat for optimal comfort and productivity.
