Zetwerk Electronics has expanded its manufacturing footprint with the launch of its largest electronics production facility in Pannur, Tamil Nadu. The new plant, part of a significant investment initiative, is set to strengthen India’s electronics manufacturing ecosystem and contribute to the broader vision of a self-reliant industrial sector.
Spanning 15 acre, the facility is designed to manufacture control boards for consumer durables and IT hardware. It is equipped with advanced production infrastructure, including multiple surface-mount technology (SMT) lines and stringent quality control systems. Once fully operational, the unit is expected to provide employment to approximately 1,200 professionals, further bolstering the region’s skilled workforce.
This development aligns with India’s ambitions in the Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) sector, which is projected to reach a valuation of US$ 500 billion. The initiative also supports Tamil Nadu’s goal of achieving a one-trillion-dollar economy, reinforcing the state’s position as a key player in electronics manufacturing.
Further strengthening Tamil Nadu’s electronics landscape, new manufacturing clusters have been announced for Pillaipakkam and Manallur, representing a combined investment of over Rs 1,100 crore. These clusters aim to provide a robust infrastructure for electronics production, fostering industrial growth and attracting further investment in the region.
