BEML Ltd has introduced next-generation versions of its flagship construction equipment — the BE220G Hydraulic Excavator and the BL9H Backhoe Loader — marking a significant step in its commitment to indigenous innovation and self-reliance under the Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative.
Engineered through BEML’s in-house R&D capabilities, the upgraded models reflect the company’s renewed focus on delivering future-ready solutions for the evolving demands of the construction, mining, and infrastructure sectors. These machines have been designed to offer superior performance, improved fuel efficiency, enhanced operator comfort, and simplified maintenance, catering to the rigorous requirements of modern-day applications.
The virtual launch of the upgraded equipment was presided over by Shantanu Roy, Chairman and Managing Director, in the presence of Sanjay Som, Director (Mining & Construction Business), and other senior officials during a special ceremony held at BEML’s KGF Complex.
The BE220G Hydraulic Excavator is powered by a 148 HP CUMMINS engine and features a next-generation hydraulic system, two-speed travel mode, electronic monitoring for real-time diagnostics, and a spacious, high-visibility operator cabin. With an operating mass of 22,800 kg and a bucket capacity of up to 1.26 cubic m, the excavator is built to deliver strength, reliability, and efficiency across demanding terrains.
The BL9H Backhoe Loader offers versatile performance for applications in construction, landscaping, and agriculture. Available in both 2WD and 4WD options, it is equipped with a 74 HP engine and smooth transmission, and supports a wide range of attachments including forks, augers, hammers, and breakers. It boasts a maximum travel speed of 39 kmph, ensuring enhanced mobility on varied job sites.
With these upgraded machines, BEML reinforces its position as a leading provider of high-performance, indigenously developed equipment, offering a robust alternative to imports and strengthening India’s infrastructure capabilities.
