The company is steadfast in its commitment to fully manufacturing security products within the country in the near future, aligning with the government’s Make in India initiative.
Rajeev Samanta, GM Sales – South Asia, Security Products, Johnson Controls India, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “We are proud to introduce our cutting-edge line of domestic security cameras, a testament to our unwavering commitment to India’s Make in India initiative. These cameras, manufactured in India with over 75 per cent local components, not only highlight our dedication to self-sufficiency but also reinforce our position as a key player in the global manufacturing landscape.”
He added, “The launch of the Illustra Standard Gen3 cameras is a step towards augmenting our role in enhancing security and catalyzing India’s journey towards becoming a technological powerhouse. Our vision aligns with the country’s aspirations, and we are poised to make a lasting impact on the security industry and beyond.”
In recent years, the security and safety sector has experienced substantial growth, with widespread adoption of surveillance systems, ranging from home security to enterprise applications in facilities like warehouses, manufacturing plants, large offices, and public spaces such as transportation hubs and smart cities. The Indian CCTV market is estimated to reach US$ 10.17 billion by 2029, with a projected CAGR of 20.60 per cent.
Despite the significant growth, the Indian video surveillance market remains fragmented, necessitating products that offer diverse features tailored to end users’ needs. Emphasizing domestic production, especially for government enterprises and smart city projects, is gaining prominence.
The launch of the Illustra Standard Gen3 line is a pivotal move towards fortifying the domestic manufacturing ecosystem to meet the rising demand. Developed by Johnson Controls India’s local engineering teams in collaboration with global teams, these cameras offer robust security measures against potential vulnerabilities and unauthorized access.
The new line encompasses access control, video surveillance, cloud solutions, and intrusion detection, catering to various sectors such as defence, government, private enterprises, airports, and transportation projects. Johnson Controls India’s security products division, with a history of over two decades in India, has consistently deployed solutions across diverse industries, including aviation, education, roadways and transportation, and healthcare.
With an eye on global markets, Johnson Controls aims to expand its portfolio of cameras and security solutions manufactured in India, reaching beyond serving the Indian market to cater to regions like the Middle East and Latin America. The company is poised to make significant strides in the security industry, leveraging its expertise and commitment to cutting-edge technology.
