Danfoss India’s Power Electronics & Drives celebrates a decade of excellence

Danfoss India’s Power Electronics & Drives (DPD) Supply Chain has marked its 10th anniversary with a celebration at the Danfoss Chennai plant, recognising its significant contributions to energy efficiency in India’s infrastructure projects. Since its inception in 2014, the DPD segment has played a crucial role in optimising energy use across notable projects such as the Jammu Baramulla Railway Line, India’s first underwater railway tunnel in Kolkata, Pune Airport, and various educational campuses like IIM and AIMS.

The anniversary event was attended by key figures including Mika Kulju, President & Global Head, Danfoss Power Electronics and Drives Segment, Ravichandran Purushothaman, President – Danfoss India Region, Ranjith Raman, Director & Head of Supply Chain, Danfoss Power Electronics and Drives Segment, and Mandar Vaijanapurkar, Head of Drives Sales, Marketing, and Services. The event highlighted the team’s exceptional achievements and unwavering commitment to manufacturing excellence.

Mika Kulju, President & Global Head, Danfoss Power Electronics and Drives Segment expressed his admiration for the Indian team’s dedication, stating, “Wherever I’ve been, whether meeting customers or visiting our teams in Pune and Chennai, the Indian team’s passion and enthusiasm has been truly inspiring. I feel more energised than ever. It’s because of the dedication and energy I see from our teams that I believe India can drive growth not just locally but globally. Since the start of production in 2014, Danfoss Power Electronics and Drives Supply Chain has grown from a small team of four at the Oragadam campus to over 50 dedicated members. This growth has transformed it into a significant global production hub for various Danfoss products, including VLT Micro Drives FC51 and VLT HVAC Drives FC101.

Ravichandran Purushothaman, President – Danfoss India Region emphasised the team’s journey, remarking, “Our journey has been defined by a relentless pursuit of excellence, driven by passion, collaboration, and commitment. This milestone emphasises the hard work and expertise of our exceptional team, laying a robust foundation for Drives’ future growth in India. With increasing opportunities in energy efficiency and electrification, we are poised to further our localization agenda and continue staying closer to our customers.”

Ranjith Raman, Director & Head of Supply Chain, Danfoss Power Electronics and Drives Segment highlighted the team’s future readiness, stating, “Today, Danfoss Drives India production has expanded significantly and established a robust supply chain system which caters not only to India region but also other global markets. Our success hinges on our people, who are the foundation of our growth and also our ability to bounce back quickly amidst any headwinds, highlighting our resilience. We are well poised to support the decarbonization needs of our customers.”
