The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is progressing steadily with its ambitious Phase-IV expansion, set to significantly enhance urban connectivity across the capital. With the Delhi Metro network already spanning over 395 km and covering 289 stations—including the Noida Metro Aqua Line and Rapid Metro Gurugram—this latest phase will further strengthen Delhi’s public transport infrastructure.
First Stretch Operational, Full Completion by 2026
As part of this expansion, DMRC has already opened the 2.8 km Janakpuri West–Krishna Park Extension segment on the Magenta Line. The broader Phase-IV project aims to add 44 new stations across three strategic corridors, improving metro access in North, East, South, and Central Delhi. The entire expansion is expected to be completed by 2026.
Three Key Corridors in Focus
- Maujpur–Majlis Park (12.3 km, 8 stations)
Enhancing metro connectivity in North and East Delhi, this corridor will feature stations such as Bhajanpura, Khajuri Khas, and Burari. - Krishna Park Extension–Ramakrishna Ashram Marg (26.5 km, 21 stations)
Covering vital areas including Paschim Vihar, Pitampura, Azadpur, and Sadar Bazar, this corridor will improve accessibility across the western and central parts of the city. - Delhi Aerocity–Tughlakabad (23.6 km, 15 stations)
Strengthening transit options in South Delhi, this line will connect key locations such as Vasant Kunj, Chhatarpur, and Khanpur, easing travel for thousands of daily commuters.
A Step Towards Sustainable Urban Mobility
The Phase-IV expansion aligns with DMRC’s vision of a well-integrated, efficient, and sustainable public transport system. By improving last-mile connectivity and reducing traffic congestion, this initiative will play a crucial role in shaping Delhi’s urban mobility landscape in the years to come.
