CNH rolls out locally-made 2.8L Trem V engine from Greater Noida plant

CNH is now manufacturing the advanced 2.8L Trem V engine (F28)at its state-of-the-art engine plant in Greater Noida.

CNH has taken a major leap in powertrain innovation with the commencement of production at its state-of-the-art engine plant in Greater Noida. The facility is now manufacturing the advanced 2.8L Trem V engine (F28), a high-performance, fuel-efficient, and environmentally compliant power unit tailored for the Indian market.

The F28 engine, licensed to CNH by FPT Industrial, the powertrain division of Iveco Group, is designed to deliver exceptional efficiency and reliability. Its compact build enhances engine balance, reduces vibrations, and minimizes friction, leading to improved fuel economy and durability. Initially developed for construction equipment under CEV V norms, the engine is poised for expansion into the agricultural sector once TREM V emission regulations are introduced.

Narinder Mittal, President and Managing Director, CNH India, highlighted the significance of this development, stating, “The launch of the 2.8L TREM V engine from the state-of-the-art Noida engine plant underscores our dedication to delivering solutions engineered and manufactured in India. This achievement both enhances our product offerings and reaffirms CNH’s commitment to innovation and sustainable productivity. This highlights our strategic focus on producing reliable, efficient, and environmentally compliant powertrain solutions that will set new benchmarks for the industry.”

The Greater Noida plant, spanning 7,000 sq m within CNH’s 60 acre campus, is equipped with cutting-edge digital and AI-driven technologies. With an annual production capacity of up to 20,000 units, the facility integrates robotic component cleaning and an advanced operator guidance system to ensure precision manufacturing.

With this latest development, CNH is reinforcing its commitment to localized, next-generation power solutions, setting new standards in the Indian construction and agricultural equipment industry.
