Timken India Ltd has announced the expansion of its bearing manufacturing operations in Bharuch, Gujarat, further strengthening its position in the engineered bearings and industrial motion products segment. The new facility, located adjacent to its existing plant, is a significant step in scaling up local production of spherical roller bearings (SRBs), cylindrical roller bearings (CRBs), and associated components to meet growing market demand.
The expansion supports Timken’s global strategy to increase regional manufacturing capacity and enhance service delivery to customers across India and international markets. By ramping up the production of critical bearing solutions domestically, the company aims to improve market responsiveness, reduce lead times, and reinforce its commitment to long-term growth in India.
Designed with a strong emphasis on sustainability, the facility integrates advanced environmental features, including rooftop solar panels, a zero liquid discharge system, rainwater harvesting, and energy-efficient infrastructure. The plant also includes electric material handling systems and has implemented green initiatives such as planting over 900 trees within the site.
Spanning over 55,000 sq m, the new unit is equipped with cutting-edge, fully automated grinding lines and advanced superfinishing machinery. These technologies enable high-precision manufacturing and process efficiency, ensuring that Timken’s globally recognized quality standards are maintained throughout the production cycle.
With this expansion, Timken India reinforces its role as a key contributor to the company’s global supply chain, while aligning with broader industry trends toward sustainable manufacturing and increased localization. The investment also reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to enhancing its footprint in India and the broader South-East Asian region.
