Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Assam Bioethanol Plant at Numaligarh Refinery (NRL) in Golaghat, marking a major push towards clean energy and reduced reliance on fossil fuels. The facility has been developed to produce bio-ethanol, providing direct benefits to farmers, generating employment, and supporting sustainable economic growth in the region.
Along with the inauguration, the foundation stone for a Polypropylene Plant at NRL was also laid. The upcoming unit is expected to add significant value to Assam’s petrochemical sector, enhance industrial output, and open new socio-economic opportunities.
The initiatives are projected to strengthen India’s energy security while accelerating Assam’s industrial and agricultural development.
