PPA and AM/NS Ports ink Concession Agreement for mechanisation of CQ-III berth

Paradip Port Authority (PPA) and AM/NS Ports have entered into a Concession Agreement for the mechanisation of the CQ-III berth to handle dry bulk cargo, marking a major milestone in strengthening port infrastructure and operational efficiency.

The project, awarded for a 30-year concession period, is designed to facilitate the shipment of iron ore pellets of AM/NS India through a fully mechanised conveying and ship loader system, equipped with modern cargo handling facilities. This initiative underscores a long-term commitment towards sustainable and efficient port operations.

The agreement was formally executed by Himanshu Sekhar Rout, Chief Engineer, PPA, and Subhakant Dash, Authorised Signatory, AM/NS Ports, in the presence of  P L Haranadh, IRTS, Chairman, Paradip Port Authority, and Suresha G, Chief – Odisha Operations, AM/NS India. Senior officials and employees of both organisations also attended the ceremony.

Speaking on the occasion, P L Haranadh highlighted that the mechanisation of the CQ-III berth would significantly enhance berth productivity and encourage environmentally friendly coastal cargo handling operations.

Suresha G, Chief – Odisha Operations, AM/NS India stated, “This partnership marks a pivotal moment in our journey to modernise port operations and support industrial growth in the region. The mechanization of CQ-III berth will reinforce our commitment to operational excellence and environmental sustainability.”

The project is expected to transform Paradip Port into a world-class logistics hub while further strengthening AM/NS India’s cargo handling and transportation capabilities.
