BCPL Railway Infrastructure Ltd has secured a Rs 60.06 million contract to install circuit breakers across multiple yards and sidings in the Howrah Division of Eastern Railway. The project aims to modernise the existing sectioning layout and reduce mainline tripping by replacing Breaker on Main (BM) units with upgraded circuit breaker systems. A formal letter of acceptance has been issued, and the work is scheduled to be completed within twelve months.
The company views this development as further strengthening its role in enhancing operational efficiency across the railway network. The upgraded installations are expected to minimise traffic disruptions caused by yard line failures and improve overall system reliability.
BCPL continues to expand its presence in national connectivity initiatives, particularly in the North East and other underserved regions. The organisation anticipates a robust pipeline of opportunities across EPC projects, system upgrades, new line construction, additional third and fourth lines, and efforts to increase speeds on existing routes in the coming months.
