Anlon Technology delivers indigenous runway safety equipment to Noida Airport

Karnataka Minister for Large and Medium Industries M B Patil facilitated the handover of indigenously manufactured airport runway cleaning vehicles developed by Bengaluru-based Anlon Technology Solutions Ltd to Noida International Airport Ltd, reinforcing India’s focus on self-reliance in critical aviation infrastructure.

The specialised vehicles have been developed under the Government of India’s Make in India initiative, with Anlon Technology Solutions leading the engineering and manufacturing effort. The project involved technical collaboration with Switzerland-based Bucher Municipal, while the machines were assembled at Anlon’s production facility in Adinarayanahosahalli near Doddaballapur in Karnataka.

The delivery marks a notable milestone, as the machines are being described as the first runway cleaning vehicles to be manufactured within the country. Two units were formally handed over to the airport operator, strengthening runway safety operations at the upcoming Noida International Airport.

Designed to address critical aviation safety requirements, the vehicles are capable of removing foreign object debris such as nails and sharp metal fragments that pose risks to aircraft tyres. In addition, the systems are equipped to vacuum dust and eliminate organic buildup, including algae, which can affect runway friction and increase the risk of skidding during aircraft landing and braking.

Highlighting the role of domestic manufacturing, the initiative reflects the growing contribution of MSMEs to India’s aviation supply chain. Anlon Technology Solutions, which also manufactures mechanised street-sweeping equipment, represents a segment of Indian engineering firms expanding into high-value and safety-critical infrastructure equipment.

The development also underscores Karnataka’s strengthening ecosystem in precision engineering and mobility solutions, which continues to support import substitution and advanced manufacturing across sectors such as aviation and public infrastructure.
