KP Group has entered into a strategic understanding with the Government of Gujarat to undertake large-scale renewable energy development in the state, committing an investment of around Rs 4,000 crore. The collaboration is aimed at building a diversified clean energy portfolio with a combined capacity of 855 MW across key renewable-rich districts, including Devbhumi Dwarka and Kutch.
The planned portfolio brings together both solar and wind-solar hybrid installations, reflecting Gujarat’s growing focus on integrated renewable energy systems. The project mix includes two large solar parks of 200 MW and 405 MW, along with two inter-state transmission system (ISTS)–connected wind-solar hybrid projects of 100 MW and 150 MW. Once operational, these facilities are expected to significantly strengthen Gujarat’s green power base while supporting grid stability through hybrid generation.
Beyond energy generation, the initiative is projected to create more than 4,000 employment opportunities across construction, operations and ancillary services, delivering a boost to regional economies. The projects will be rolled out in multiple phases, subject to statutory and regulatory clearances.
Under the agreement, the Gujarat Government will facilitate KP Group in securing the necessary approvals and clearances to enable smooth execution. The partnership aligns with the state’s long-term clean energy roadmap, which prioritises large-scale renewable deployment to meet rising power demand while reducing carbon intensity.
Founded in 1994, KP Group has built a strong presence in renewable energy and infrastructure development. The latest agreement reinforces its expanding footprint in Gujarat and underlines its role in supporting India’s broader transition towards sustainable power generation.
