Tata Motors has further expanded its electric commercial vehicle lineup with the introduction of the all-new Intra EV Pickup, marking a strategic step in advancing sustainable cargo mobility across India. The vehicle has been launched at a starting price of Rs 11.95 lakh (ex-showroom) and will be available through the company’s commercial vehicle dealership network nationwide.
With this launch, Tata Motors continues to build on its growing electric CV ecosystem, extending its presence in the small commercial vehicle segment. The Intra EV Pickup combines the established strengths of the Intra platform with a purpose-built electric architecture, offering a practical solution tailored to evolving cargo transport needs.
Launching the Tata Intra EV Pickup, Girish Wagh, Managing Director & CEO, Tata Motors Ltd, said, “Our commitment to green mobility is focused on delivering sustainable solutions that are proven at scale and relevant to India’s diverse commercial mobility needs. Building on the strong market response to our electric minitrucks and the successful deployment of our electric buses serving commuters across 10 cities nationwide, we rolled out our nextgeneration electric trucks earlier this year and are now advancing further with the launch of electric pickups. Through this progression, Tata Motors has established the country’s most comprehensive electric commercial vehicle portfolio across segments. This momentum is being enabled by progressive Government policies and strong collaboration across customers, partners and suppliers, accelerating India’s transition to cleaner and more sustainable mobility.”
Engineered for demanding operating conditions, the Intra EV Pickup has been developed with a clear focus on improving earning potential and operational efficiency. It offers a payload capacity of 1,750 kg along with a load body length of up to 10 ft 2 in, making it suitable for a wide range of applications such as FMCG distribution, e-commerce logistics, cold chain transportation, waste management, LPG supply, and dairy operations.
Powering the vehicle is a 72 kW electric motor delivering 230 Nm of peak torque, enabling strong performance even under full load. The pickup is equipped with a 28.2 kWh IP67-rated battery pack, providing a certified range of 211 km on a single charge. It also supports fast charging through a CCS2 charger, allowing the battery to charge from 10% to 80% in approximately 55 minutes. The vehicle comes with a 6-year or 2 lakh km high-voltage battery warranty, reinforcing long-term reliability.
Speaking about the Tata Intra EV Pickup, Pinaki Haldar, Vice President & Business Head – SCVPU, Tata Motors Ltd, said, “The all-new Intra EV Pickup has been developed with a clear focus on earning capability and everyday usability, combining one of the highest payload capacities in its segment with strong performance, long range and high uptime, all at a segment-beating price. Its comfortable, crashtested cabin, carlike driving dynamics and thoughtfully integrated features are designed to reduce fatigue and improve productivity across long operating hours. As adoption of cleaner technologies accelerates, Tata Motors remains committed to raising industry benchmarks and making electric cargo mobility a practical, confident choice for businesses.”
On the safety and technology front, the pickup integrates an advanced electronic braking system to enhance stability, along with three levels of regenerative braking to improve energy efficiency. It is also equipped with Fleet Edge, Tata Motors’ connected vehicle platform, offering real-time tracking, vehicle diagnostics, and predictive maintenance capabilities for fleet operators.
Driver comfort has also been prioritised, with features such as a walkthrough cabin, ergonomic layout, and electric power-assisted steering (EPAS). The electric drivetrain ensures reduced noise and vibration levels, contributing to a more comfortable driving experience during long operational hours.
The Intra EV Pickup is supported by Tata Motors’ broader EV ecosystem, which includes a network of over 25,000 charging points and more than 200 dedicated EV service centres across the country. The company is also facilitating financing solutions through partnerships with banks and NBFCs, aimed at easing adoption for individual operators and fleet owners.
The new model joins the existing Ace EV 1000 and Ace Pro EV in Tata Motors’ electric small commercial vehicle portfolio, further reinforcing its commitment to enabling efficient and sustainable last-mile and mid-mile logistics solutions.
