Concrete equipment giant Schwing Stetter India has lined up some interesting product launches at the upcoming bauma Conexpo. V G Sakthikumar, Managing Director, Schwing Stetter Sales and Services Pvt Ltd, Convenor for Membership Committee, ICEMA, Chairman of Mechanisation Committee, Builders Association of India, gives a preview on the new additions planned.
Tell us about Schwing Stetter India’s performance through 2017-18.
Schwing Stetter India follow a financial year of January to December. We had a very good business in 2017 and in 2018, the trend is continuing. Also we are trying to continue increasing our numbers in all the product categories. The new products that were launched earlier also is contributing substantially to our growth.
Some details of your latest product offerings for the Indian markets. How well accepted are they?
We have been regularly launching new products to meet the requirements that arises from time to time. For example: Schwing Stetter India’s newest launches are SuperSix Concrete Transit Mixers with IoT Ready, IoT In and GPS and Stetter Batching Plant M25 Z which were launched recently in response to the feedback received from the customers, operators, project personnel at site. This is also in line with Digital India initiative. Supersix concrete transit mixers was launched in partnership with Mahindra Powerol Engines. Schwing Stetter India is the very first company in India to have launched for IoT applications being available for our concreting and non-concreting line of equipment. They are very well accepted in many places across India. Our latest product offerings for the Indian markets are as follows:

What are the emerging trends in construction equipment industry (globally and in India)?
Integrating Smartphone with the machine through IoT, GPS tracking, cloud computing based solutions, drones, augmented reality, virtual reality based training, robots, artificial intelligence, building roads with solar panels, building roads with plastic mix and building water absorbing roads to increase groundwater table are the emerging trends in construction equipment industry globally and in India.
What kind of support do you offer to the customers through your sustained R&D efforts and how it has helped in making technologically superior products?
Schwing Stetter India is known for a strong after-sales support. We are not only making the products available and we are working on methods of improving the information available to the customer about availability of different products and services in their mobile phone itself. Our R&D efforts are always targeted towards improving productivity at the site and we are engaged with various customer site to conceptualize and identify the new product requirement.
