Adani Group is set to invest Rs 2,500 crore to set up a hyper-scale data centre in Chennai. Called ‘Adani Chennai-1’, the project’s foundation stone was laid. The unit would come up in Siruseri IT Park, which is also home to IT sector majors like Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Cognizant and FSS Ltd. The facility shall be the largest hyper-scale tier-3+ data centre in Chennai. Once completed, it would serve as a one-stop-shop for telecom and IT sector needs of hyper-scale customers. Chennai has been successful in attracting several data centre setups, given its three undersea cable landing stations, sound optic fibre network connectivity and geographic proximity to key Asian destinations.
