The well known engineering and construction firm Ahluwalia Contracts has won the order for the redevelopment of Mumbai’s iconic Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus station (CSMT).Tender notice for redevelopment of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Station and Construction of Associated Infrastructure on Engineering Procurement and construction Mode was issued in October 2022 with three years work completion deadline earlier.
Technical bids were opened and a total of four firms submitted their bids for this contract package. Having won the bid Ahluwalia Contracts said that the project will be executed in 30 months as per reports. Ahluwalia Contracts emerged as the lowest bidder to redevelop CSMT. The company quoted Rs 2,450 crore against an estimated cost of nearly Rs 2,000 crore.
