AMP Capital, Sterlite Power join hands to launch four transmission projects

Sterlite Power, an electricity transmission infrastructure company, has joined hands with global investment manager AMP Capital for developing energy transmission projects in India. Both Sterlite Power and AMP Capital will make an investment of $150 million into the platform, as per reports. The platform will develop four transmission projects, and have put in place debt financing, which represents a total capital outlay of about $1 billion. These projects have a circuit length of around 1,800 km of transmission lines across the Western, Southern and North Eastern regions of the country. The companies will provide critical infrastructure required for evacuating power from multiple renewable energy generation projects and strengthen the power delivery infrastructure in the country.
