AMPIN Energy Transition has marked a significant step in Odisha’s clean energy journey with the commissioning of the state’s first group captive commercial and industrial (C&I) open access solar project. The 60 MWp installation, developed under the OREP-22 policy, is located in Kantabanji and reflects a growing shift toward sustainable power solutions for industrial consumers.
The project has been executed through an end-to-end approach, covering policy alignment, land acquisition, engineering, construction, and final commissioning. It is designed to supply renewable energy to key corporate consumers, including Bharti Airtel, Jindal Stainless, Emami Paper Mills, and Quality CARE Hospitals.
By integrating solar power into their energy mix, these organisations are expected to significantly lower dependence on conventional grid electricity. The transition is projected to deliver cost efficiencies in the range of 25–30 per cent while cutting emissions by approximately 77 ton annually. The environmental impact is comparable to the large-scale addition of green cover each year.
The commissioning also aligns with AMPIN’s broader expansion strategy in Odisha, where additional capacities are under development. With 45 MWp currently under construction and a further 50 MWp planned, the company is steadily scaling its renewable portfolio in the state, targeting a cumulative capacity of around 200 MW in the near term.
