Blue Star to expand new plant at Wada by 2021-end

The Blue Star is in the process of setting up a new plant at its existing facility at Wada in Maharashtra, to expand the manufacturing capacity of its deep freezers and storage water coolers. The company is setting up the plant with a capital expenditure (capex) of around Rs 130 crore. This will cater to the rising demand for commercial refrigeration products as well as leverage on the Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan.  This new plant is being constructed on a built-up area of around 19,300 sq mtr, will have a capacity to produce around 2,00,000 deep freezers and 1,00,000 storage water coolers per annum. It is in the advanced stages of completion and likely to be commissioned towards the end of 2021.

Also to further support the pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors, it has announced the launch of a new range of commercial refrigeration products and solutions, Ice Lined Refrigerators and Vaccine Transporters, which are ideal for storing vaccines. The company also announces the launch of its new range of water coolers and water dispensers, Touchless Storage Water Coolers and Softpush Bottled Water Dispensers, which are designed to help maintain hygiene.
